This reminds me of a joke Tina Fey told at the Television Critics Association awards ceremony. She thanked us “for making ‘30 Rock’ the most successful cable show on broadcast television,” and added: “Oh, it’s a great time to be on broadcast television, isn’t it? It’s exciting! It’s like being in vaudeville in the ’60s!”
Yeah, it'll be a real tragedy when the dinosaur networks finally succumb. Where will we be without...er...well, the peacock logo?
ReplyDeleteTuesday night was the first time I can remember, since our last Tornado scare, that my wife and I watch the broadcast networks. We'd just gotten a digital TV and she wanted to watch the latest NCIS episode.
ReplyDeleteWe probably won't watch the broadcast network again until we get a tornado forecasted and then we'll only watch for the local weather reports.
Tina Fey is very clever, but with all due respect, Broadcast TV is not exactly breaking her balls, er, breasticles.
