How is that Witness?

My next purchase has been narrowed down to either a XDm in 9mm or a Witness in 10mm.

I like the capacity of the nine, but 16 rounds of 10mm would do nicely.

I like the Witness very much. I tried a friend's compact Witness and was impressed with how well I shot it compared to XDs or Glocks or 1911s. So I got this full-size 10mm version at a gun show last April. It is available for just about every auto pistol caliber under the sun, but the 10mm version and the 45ACP version have slightly beefier frames. So I bought the 10mm gun and have extra slide/barrel/magazine kits to down-convert it to 9mm, 38-super and 40 S&W. Trying to "up-convert" it, i.e. buying a 9mm Witness and converting it to shoot 10mm or 45 ACP might reduce the life of the frame. The magazines are about $30 each. They are made by Mec-Gar. Mec-Gar also sells their own brand of Witness mags for half the price, but I have had just terrible experience with the Mec-Gar mags. Go figure! You are right about capacity: 15+1 in 10mm could handle just about anything. This is my only 10mm gun, and shooting it is, no pun intended, a blast!
