Range Bound

I'm going to the range in a few minutes. I want to test the recoil spring in the Witness, which I have now re-replaced with the original spring (and corresponding firing pin spring), removing the Wolff 22-lb spring.

I also want to shoot my 9mm Springfield 1911 some, and my Glock 17.

That's about 200 rounds.

See ya later!

You need company...... shame it's so far away! Enjoy the afternoon.

I got to the NRA range about 2:45 and the place is jammed. There are two or three times the usual number of people and the wait is over an hour!

I belong to a private gun-club to the east of KC. Late on Sunday afternoons is my favorite time to go to the range---in summer. The range is open until just before dusk. It's not unusual for me to arrive a 4PM and have the entire range to myself. We have two rifle ranges, one out to 200yds, a shotgun range, and four pistol bays, some with falling steel, one set up for Bullseye and PPC.

We also have an indoor range available too, when the weather is not so nice. Makes my yearly dues worth while.

Thats why I don't shoot at the NRA Range anymore. If you ever want to hit the Arlington-Fairfax Izaak Walton League (in Centerville), just let me know

Carteach: you bet, we've gotta go shootin'. I thought I might see you at the bowling pin shoot, but destiny took a hand.

Crucis: the NRA range is not usually so crowded. I saw a lot of women and I overheard conversations from people who were there to shoot their first gun, or a new gun, or to take a class; very encouraging!

Countertop: thanks very much for your kind offer. Ten years ago I went to a muzzle-loading trap shoot at IWLA-Fairfax; nice range!
