Glad you made it home safe. The bag in question was stolen or grabbed by mistake, they're not sure yet, nothing in it earth-shattering, but not smart to leave it sitting while you go to the loo.
No kidding! Not simply "mislaid" or "misplaced"? Wow.
A good, official-looking briefcase that will awe and intimidate the curious and the light-fingered would seem like the way to go.
