With a tiny project like this, a 5-foot by 6-foot bathroom, a lot can get done in a day. Today they finished the wall tile and the floor tile. Grouting tomorrow, I guess.
That's what they say. Unfortunately, as, um, volatile as the real estate market is, we completely re-did the kitchen and bath last year, and the house is appraised at almost a full hundred grand less than it was then. (Which, granted, is almost a hundred grand more than it was when we bought it.) No telling what it would have been if we hadn't remodeled, of course.
I considered the (distinct) possibility that, even after fixing up the bathroom and kitchen, I would not get my money back when selling. But then I thought that I might derive some intangible benefits from living in a house with a remodeled bath and kitchen.

True. We no longer spend the time preparing meals muttering about how much we hate the kitchen. Although, now that there's room in there for two, we often tell each other how much we like the new kitchen. The new refi (signed yesterday) actually pays for the one that paid for the remodel, and lets us pay off a couple more debts. wv: susemeth. How Suzie financed her college education? Yep, fix and bath and kitchen and get BIG $$ returns when you sell :-)
That's the plan!
