What Kind Of Rifles Are We Talkin' About, Exactly?

Caption: "Mexican Army elite troops shout military slogans during the Independence Day military parade in Mexico City, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008."

Can anyone identify the rifles they are carrying? Here's another picture:

That's a lot of rifles, is what that is.

Are those Barrett .50-BMG rifles? Officially issued to the Mexican Army? And the Mexican gov't can complain (with a straight face, no less!) that these rifles are being smuggled in from Texas?

What a world!

Those do indeed appear to be Barrett M-82's.

The Mexican army must have been buying them at Texas gun shows...

Could someone kindly point me to those gun shows? If the Mexican Army can afford that many of them, then maybe they're in my price range, and I'd love to have a couple. Plus, I promise to not smuggle mine out of the country...

Would you sign & notarize a statement saying that? ;P

Damn...those are thirty-pound rifles they're carrying.

'Course, I used to march carrying a M224 with M8 baseplate. And it sucked, in a bad, bad way.
